welcome

Welcome to adverseCamber.

My name is Paul Allan White and I'm a web-developer. An inauspicious start, but that's who I am and that's what I do. I've also spent the last 6 or 7 years explaining to friends, family and anyone else who has feigned interest in my work that I am not a web-designer.

This is important because (a) what I do has nothing to do with web-design, and (b) I don't have an arty-design bone in my body (much to my chagrin I must admit). The sparse design you see in front of you is the result of over a year's deliberation, photoshop tutorials, and a hopeless realisation that I don't know much about art, but I know what I like.

Unfortunately once people realise that my real job is even more boring and detached from their reality than they originally thought (and they thought *that* was boring) their eyes glaze over and conversation topics change swiftly and tangentally.

In any case, this website is something I've been thinking about for a while - unfortunately I still have no idea what it should be about. That's right, it's the worst kind of website, more self-indulgent stuff and nonsense clogging up the internet and stealing your broadband.

However with a bit of attention and effort it could become something useful - for me at least - and become a playground for my tinkering with asp.net, soap, xml, sql server and any other technologies that take my fancy at the time. And in some distant future none of us yet know, perhaps - fate willing - perhaps it could become useful for other people. And that would be a good thing.
